The last three months have been better.  I was able to go on missions either with Genesis or Angeal but I was glad that I had gotten some action.  With each battle I had felt myself growing stronger and faster.  I felt like something was happening to me.  I couldn’t really tell if it was good or bad.  Also my face had completely healed and I was glad because that freaking hurt!

After doing fifteen missions, the Director decided to let me have a few days off.  I wasn’t really upset because if I wasn’t on a mission, I had time to spend with Angeal.  We have become a couple, but we haven’t told a lot of people, especially Sephiroth.  I’m not really sure how to tell Genesis either, because he’s so protective of me and he’s Angeal’s best friend.  I don’t want to ruin that friendship.

Even though we have been dating, we act professional when we’re on missions, or in training.  Nothing changes because we don’t want to distract ourselves and be open for attack.  The duty of the SOLDIERS, I guess.

Today I was just relaxing at my place and watching the puppies wrestling over a rope.  They were so big now, and I was starting to wonder when Zack was going to take Zorro home.  Then I heard a knock at my door.

“It’s open,” I called while Snow jumped into my lap and fell asleep.

The door opened and once it shut footsteps trailed into the living room.  A weight was on the arm rest and I looked up to see Angeal looking down at me with a smile.  I smiled back up at him then he leaned down to kiss me.

“Hey beautiful,” he said.

I chuckled at him.  “Hey yourself.  So you got time off too?”

“Yup.  Just so you know, Genesis found out.”

“Shut up!” I sat up causing Snow to want to jump off and go over to her bed.

“Not kidding, I think the pup gave us away,” he explained while sitting next to me and wrapping an arm around me.

“Great,” I face palmed.  “He’s going to kill me.”

“I don’t think so; I mean you’re serious right?”

“Hm?”

“You’re serious, I mean about us?”

I thought for a moment.  Was I really serious about Angeal?  We had been together for three months now and I was enjoying it.  It felt natural to be in his arms, and when we kiss I feel so happy.  We did get together pretty sudden, but we were mostly hanging out and we knew each other for almost all our lives.  I smiled at myself and then reached over to intertwine our hands together.

“Yeah, I am Angeal,” I said smiling up at him.

“Then we shouldn’t have a lot to worry about.”

He leaned down and captured me in a long and passionate kiss.  His hand trailed to the back of my neck pulling me closer making me press my hands against his chest.  And there it was, the happy feeling of being with him.  Did I unknowingly have an attraction for Angeal all this time?  A loud knock came at my door, making us separate.

“I bet it’s Genesis,” I whispered.

“I don’t doubt you,” he joked.

I got up and walked over to the door anticipating the talk coming ahead.  When I opened the door, there was Genesis with his arms crossed, mad as hell; and Zack with an apologetic look.

“I tried to calm him down, but he’s pretty pissed.”

“It’s alright Zack.  You guys can come in.”

Genesis walked in and stormed over into the living room while Zack followed him.  I shut the door and walked into the living room where Genesis was standing looking at Angeal and Angeal did the same.

“Exactly when were you going to tell me about this?” Genesis asked, and I couldn’t tell if it was to me or Angeal.

“It’s not Angeal’s fault,” I started and stepped next to Angeal.  “I made him promise not to tell you until I was ready.  Angeal would never go back on it.  I thought that we should see where this is going for a while then tell you about it.”

“Genesis, forgive me for not telling you from the beginning,” Angeal started, “I didn’t want to start anything with risk of our friendship.  And Sophie does speak the truth when she made me promise not to tell you until we were serious.”

“And how serious is that?” Genesis questioned looking to me.

“Just that it wasn’t just a fling, that we were serious about dating.  That’s all.”

I saw him close his eyes and sigh.  “I’m just glad you guys told me.  I approve.”

“Hunh?!” I was confused.  “It was that easy?!

“I trust Angeal with my life, and I knew about his little crush on you since we were young.  As long as you treat her right, I won’t kill you,” he smiled and extended his hand.

Angeal smiled and shook his hand.  I took a breath of relief and went over to punch Zack in the arm.

“Thanks for spoiling it,” I said.

“Hey, I thought you both made a good couple and it’s helped me a lot in training because Angeal has been in a good mood.  So have you two…ya know?”

I smacked Zack upside the head, “What the hell is wrong with you Zack?!”

I pulled Zack into a headlock which he was able to get out of because I really wasn’t trying to hurt him.

“I’m sorry, I had to ask,” he rubbed the back of his head.

“No you didn’t,” Angeal and I said in unison.

“Aww how cute,” Zack said.

“Oh shut it,” I gave him a noogie.

“Just for that, you’re training will be harder,” Angeal said.

“Damn, I should’ve kept my mouth shut.”

“Does Sephiroth know, I bet he would be happy for you guys,” Genesis mentioned.

I felt a pang in my chest.  Tell Sephiroth?  Now why was I feeling guilty?  I think Zack caught on and spoke up for me.

“Nah, Sephiroth doesn’t care about that kind of stuff.  He’d probably make fun of you guys and then you both would fight even more.”

“Probably,” Angeal said and scratched the back of his head.

“How about we all grab a bite to eat?  The Goblin is having Karaoke tonight,” Zack mentioned.

“If Selphie’s there, I’m out.”

“She actually went out of town to see her mom,” Zack said.

“And are you paying for yourself this time?” I questioned him.

“Yes, let’s go,” Zack grabbed my hand and led me to the door.

“Uh, I think that’s my thing now Zack,” Angeal mentioned.

“Jealous are we,” I teased.

“Not in the slightest.”

We all made our way out to The Goblin and that’s when Genesis told us that Sephiroth would be joining us.  My heart was racing about the encounter now that Angeal and I were together.  How would he react to that now knowing that I had feelings for him?  Wait, keyword “had”.  It was his fault anyway.  I just decided to find happiness, like he told me to do.

We checked into The Goblin and the waitress took our orders then brought us our drinks.  We were in a circular booth just talking about random things when Sephiroth decided to join us.  He sat next to Genesis, who was next to Angeal, then me, then Zack.

“You’re late,” Genesis said.

“I had to take care of some things.  What’s the occasion?”

“Just friends hanging out,” Zack said first to avoid the subject.

“And Angeal and Sophie are dating,” Genesis added the thing I didn’t want to talk about.

“What?” Sephiroth questioned quickly then looked straight at me.  “When?”

“For a bit,” Angeal answered for me.

“Oh,” he said while averting his eyes from me.  “Congratulations,” he muttered.

“Okay,” Zack said while trying to break the awkwardness, “so are gonna do karaoke tonight Soph?”

“Hell no!   Why do you ask?”

“Because they just did a raffle to randomly choose people and I kind’ve put your name in the raffle.”

“Did Selphie tell you to do it?”

“Okay, she did.  But what does it hurt?”

“Because last time Selphie tried to make me wear some hooker heels and before I made it up to the stage, I fell flat on my face!”

Zack snickered and Genesis joined in.

“Shut up!”

“She won’t make you do that this time because she’s not here.  C’mon please, they already called your name?  And the winner get’s fifteen hundred gil.”

I face palmed myself then looked at Zack knowing that he’s begging me for a reason.  I studied his face for a moment and then it hit me.

“I think you entered me to try and muscle half of the reward money for that damn truck of yours right?  And Selphie said she was going to set you up with Aerith didn’t she?”

A pink hue went across his cheeks and I smirked.

“Aha!  I knew it!  And believe me it won’t work,” I said and sipped my lemonade.

“You don’t know that,” he muttered.

“No I didn’t mean with Aerith, I meant the method Selphie was going to tell you to use.  Believe me, Tifa and I could give you a better approach for Aerith.”

“And yet you can’t get Tifa and Cloud together.”

“He just won’t admit it!” I leaned back.  “I almost had him admit it the other day, until Genesis interrupted.”

“I didn’t do anything,” Genesis said.

“You interrupted a good conversation, but unfortunately Cloud is as stubborn as…well Sephiroth.”

We all laughed except Sephiroth who looked like he wanted to just punch someone in the face, maybe Angeal, or maybe me.  Our orders finally came and we all made small talk.  Sephiroth made a comment that the way Zack and I bicker it’s surprising that he and I weren’t a couple.  That would never happen because he’s like a goofy older brother to me.

“Sophie~” I heard Tifa.

“Oh damn, hide me,” I tried to hide against Angeal but she was already there.

“Hey the DJ called your name like a half hour ago!” she started.  “C’mon let’s have some fun, even Rinoa is gonna do it!”

“And why would I do it?”

“There’s a grand prize for the winner, about fifteen hundred gil.”

“Fifteen hundred?” I thought again then looked down at my boots.  “Man I could really use that.  Eh, fine.  Zack move.”

Zack got out and let me up then sat back down.

“You’re really gonna do it?” Genesis questioned me.

“You see these boots,” I pointed, “I need a new pair or else the sole is gonna give out on me.”

“For the boots!” Zack cheered.

“You better watch it before I pull you up there with me,” I tugged his ear.  “Especially since you entered me without my permission.”

“Ow, okay fine.”

I sighed, “I can’t believe I’m doing this; lead the way Tifa.”

She grabbed my hand and led me down to the front where Tidus, Cloud, Reno, Elena, Squall, Aerith, and Rinoa were.

“Hey been a while,” Aerith hugged me.

“Yeah it has,” I hugged back.  “So why did you have Tifa drag me down here?”

“Well the owner wants to bring in more customers, so he wanted people to do exciting things for the karaoke show, so he did a raffle and your name was pulled.  So tonight could you do a song?”

“Eh, why?  And is money involved?”

“Pleeeeease?!  It should be an easy win for you!” Tifa looked at me with those googly eyes.

“Ah, alright alright!  I’ll do it just stop staring at me!”

“Good,” she clapped her hand.  “Now you need to have an outfit.”

“What’s wrong with what I got on?”

I saw a twinkle in her eye; I knew what she was thinking.

“Oh no, not this again, hell no!”

“Oh, come on it won’t be anything less than what I have on!”

“Tifa you’re comfortable with that, I am not!”

“We’re trying to get you to win,” Tifa said.

She handed me the list of songs that the DJ had available for the contest, which is stupid.  I thought of doing Bad Apple, but I looked up and someone else was playing it.  Darn, then that leaves me with…Amen or Apocalyptic.  Greeeeeat, even better.  Both of the songs are from one of my favorite bands, but I couldn’t choose.  For sure I can’t dance, I would ask to play the guitar.

I thought for a moment; all I have on is boots, a white tank, and jeans.  One song would win the crowd regardless what I was wearing since there’s and excitement about each song.  I knew which one I would choose.

“I got this trust me.”

“Alright if you’re sure, then don’t get all butt hurt if you lose.  Remember, first impressions are everything.”

“Yeah, your first impressions are something no one will forget Tifa.”

“But of course,” she smiled.

“I wonder if I could get Zack to help?  Especially since his sorry ass entered me without me knowing.”

I waved over to Zack and he got up from the booth to run over.

“What’s up?

“Do you remember how to play guitar?”

“Of course I do.  Oh wait, I don’t like where this is going,” he got scared.

“Come on Zack, you owe me!”

“I’m not getting up there and embarrassing myself.”

“Please, if you do I will split the money with you and I’ll fix the radiator in the truck.”

He rubbed his hand over his temple then looked at me and I made a pleading face, almost mimicking his when he begged.

“Come on, you put me in there without me knowing anyway.”

“Okay, alright I’ll do it.  For the boots and the radiator,” he sighed.

“Yes!” I hugged him.  “Good because we’re up next.”

“What, I was still eating!”

“So was I!  Come on crybaby!”

I pulled him up to the stage with me then I walked over to the DJ and told him that Zack and I are going to play instruments and he was cool with it.  I had to sing most of the song and Zack would only need to back me up.  He was relieved and I could tell how nervous he was.

“Well this is better than the tense air between Sephiroth and Angeal,” he whispered.

“Really?  I’d rather deal with that,” I whispered back while we took our positions.

A fire's gotta burn
The world is gonna turn
Rain has gotta fall
Fate is gonna call
But I just keep on breathing
Long as my heart is beating

Someone's gotta hate
It's never gonna change
Gets harder everyday
It's a hell of a place
To keep your heart from freezing
To keep yourself believing

But I won't run
I'm not afraid
I'll look em in the eye
Gonna hear me say
It's

My life
My love
My sex
My drug
My lust
My God, it ain't no sin
Can I get it
Can I get an Amen
My grace
My church
My pain
My tears
My hurt
My God, I'll say it again
Can I get it
Can I get an Amen

Can I get it
Can I get an Amen
Can I get it
Can I get an Amen

Life has gotta kill
Faith is gonna blind
Hope is gonna fade
The truth is gonna lie
Sometimes there's no reason
To justify the meaning

But I won't run
I'm not ashamed
It's gonna take more than this for me to break

My life
My love
My sex
My drug
My lust
My God, it ain't no sin
Can I get it?
Can I get an Amen?
My grace
My church
My pain
My tears
My hurt
My God, I'll say it again
Can I get it?
Can I get an Amen?

Can I get it
Can I get an Amen
Can I get it
Can I get an Amen

My life, my love, my sex, my drug
My lust

My life
My love
My sex
My drug
My lust
My God, it ain't no sin
Can I get it?
Can I get an Amen?
My grace
My church
My pain
My tears
My hurt
My God, I'll say it again
Can I get it?
Can I get an Amen?

Finally, it was over.  Zack and I bowed then got off the stage breathing deeply because it’s exhilarating to sing and play to rock.  I had not stressed my voice so much in a long time.

“Man,” Zack huffed, “I didn’t think you would sing that.”

“Me neither,” I huffed.  “It was the only one left.”

“See why I said, you should’ve went earlier?”

“When we win the money and you get your truck fixed, you should just shut up.”

“Hahahaha!”

The announcer came up and announced me and Zack the winners, of course, since we were the only contestants who weren’t drunk.  Zack decided to head back and finish eating while I took the ticket over to the bar to collect the winnings.  While I was waiting, I had noticed that some strange guy sitting at the bar, in a suit, was staring at me.  He looked like the modern day Tony Stark.  I got a little uncomfortable with the way he was looking at me.  I looked over to the bartender.

“Hey can you hurry up a bit, my food is getting cold.”

“I’m sorry miss, just another moment,” the barkeep said.

I tapped my fingers against the counter in anticipation.  Something didn’t feel right. Looking at his hand rested an expensive crested ring; the Reeve ring.  I knew that there was trouble, but nothing I couldn’t handle.

“Hey barkeep, how about a strawberry martini for the lovely winner here,” the man ordered.

“I don’t drink thanks,” I said quickly.

“Aww, what’s the rush sweetheart?  Can’t a man be nice and buy you a drink?”

“I’m not your sweetheart and you had better back off buddy or else,” I warned.

“Fiesty aren’t you; I like that in a woman.  And I’m just trying to get to know you.”

“Well keep on looking, because I’m not up for grabs.”

“Here you are miss,” the barkeep handed me an envelope.

“Thanks.”

I pocketed the cash and then tried to walk away until the man got up and blocked my way.

“Move,” I warned.

“Demanding aren’t you?  You and me will be a very interesting pair,” he smirked and reached out to grab my hand.

Before I could react, a hand gripped the man’s arm and shoved him against the bar.  It was Angeal with an angry look on his face.

“Everything alright Sophie?” Angeal asked while keeping his grip on the man.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” I said while stepping closer behind him.

“Hmm, didn’t know you had a watchdog,” the man smirked.

Angeal’s grip on the man increased making him wince in pain.

“You keep your hands away from my girl, got it?  Or next time, I’ll throw you over the bar into broken glass,” Angeal threatened.

“Fine,” the man held up his hands.

Angeal released him then came over and wrapped his arm around my waist then led me back to the table.  I had to tell Genesis who he was.  When we got to the table I handed Zack his half of the money.

“I need to go,” I said looking at Genesis.

“Who was that?” he asked.

“Remember the Reeve family?” I asked.

“Oh you’re kidding, that’s him?!”

“I would assume since he had the family crest ring.  So I guess mother and father weren’t kidding when they said that it wasn’t over.”

“What does that mean?” Angeal asked.

“Meaning they’re still trying to marry Sophie off to another family to gain funds,” Genesis explained.

“I’d like to see them try, next time I see him I’ll rip his throat out if he makes comments about me again,” I nearly growled.

I curled my fist then looked over to Zack who was listening and eating my fries.

“Hey!”

I launched myself out at him and put him into a headlock.

“You are just a bottomless pit!” I squeezed, “Half the reward isn’t enough?!”

“*Cough cough* give,” he struggled while tapping my arm, “give!”

I let him go and sighed, “You’ll never change Zack.”

“Probably not,” he smirked at me.

“You’re such an ass!” I chuckled and playfully shoved him.

“Hey you’re no saint!” he laughed at me.

“Whatever dude,” I stuck my tongue out.  “I’ll fix your truck tomorrow.  But for now, I wanna get out of here before that guy brings reinforcements.”

“Scared?” Sephiroth questioned.

“I’m not scared,” I snapped.  “I’d just rather not be kicked out of my favorite restaurant for killing some mutts who got loose.”

Sephiroth looked at me with his cyan eyes, something in them telling me that he didn’t like anything I either said or did.  I turned away so that I couldn’t meet his eyes then got up from the booth.

“I’m gonna get going, I need to order some new boots anyway.”

“I’ll take you,” Angeal said while standing up.

“I’ll talk to you tomorrow about this Soph,” Genesis said.

“Yeah, no prob,” I waved then walked out of the restaurant.

Angeal reached for my hand and entangled our fingers together as we walked back to the Shinra building.  I could feel that Angeal was on edge, and I was as well; I kept my guard up the whole walk back.

Sephiroth’s POV

Angeal…she is with Angeal?!  Why would she get in a relationship with him?  Why not m-no!  I was the one who pushed her away.  I shouldn’t be feeling this way, I was the one who told her to move on and find happiness.  Then why was I feeling this strange urge to make Angeal suffer?  I don’t understand.  I need to let this go, Sophie is Angeal’s now.

“Sephiroth, are you alright?” Genesis asked.

“I’m fine,” I responded while standing up.  “I have another mission to attend to.”

Without another word, I walked away heading back to the Shinra building determined to try and avoid the thought of her and him together.  However, it was all for naught; Sophie has been on my mind constantly.  Maybe I should speak with Hojo to get this emotion or whatever this is under control.

Sophia’s POV

The walk was very tense, and I was starting to wonder if it was just from the altercation with the Reeve guy alone or something else?  I felt that Angeal had something on his mind, but I don’t think he was willing to tell me.  We got to the elevator and he pressed the button for my floor.  When we boarded, I decided to break the silence.

“You haven’t said anything since we left.”

“I was focused on making sure no one followed us is all.”  He lightly squeezed my hand.  “Everything is alright now.”

“Angeal,” I pouted, “I know you, please tell me.”

He sighed and led me over to my door.  I took out my keys and opened my door letting him in.  I took off my boots noticing that the heel piece was actually coming off.  Good thing I won because these boots have had it.  Angeal took off his shoes leaving them at the door so the dogs wouldn’t chew on them.  He sat on the couch and I sat on the other side while laying my legs on his lap.

“Are you going to tell me?” I asked him.

“It was just a conversation with Sephiroth.  He was more skeptical of the whole situation than anything.  I’m not really sure why he cares so much because he’s usually more focused on getting ahead in missions than anything.  I wonder if he might-”

Angeal paused and ran a hand through his black hair.  After sighing, he reached over and entwined our fingers.

“I wonder if, Sephiroth might have feelings for you.”

“Don’t even go there Angeal.  Sephiroth doesn’t care about me, believe me.  If he cared he would’ve stopped me immediately from going any further on that mission.”

“What about you?”

“What?”

“Do you care about him?”

Do I?  In a way, I’ll always have that special spot for him, but I can never be with him.  He doesn’t want me, and I don’t deserve to be a doormat to an arrogant jerk who doesn’t love me.  But I need to tell Angeal, I shouldn’t keep things from him, not now.

“Angeal,” I reached squeezed his hand.  “I’m not gonna lie.  For the longest time I’ve had feelings for Sephiroth.  He and I had a little spat over it but it’s over now.  He doesn’t care about me and made it very clear, so I have decided to move on with my life.”  I looked up at him.  “And I love the choice I made.”

He smiled at me then motioned for me to come closer.  When I moved my legs down, he pulled my arm and I ended up on his lap, straddling him.

“Angeal!” I blushed.

He reached up and caressed my cheek.

“That’s all I wanted to hear.”

He pulled me closer and kissed me softly.

“You were amazing tonight.”

“You think so?” I blushed a little more.  “I thought you would be more shocked about my song choice.”

“Actually,” Angeal placed his lips next to my ear and whispered, “I found it quite sexy.”

Angeal traced his hand down from my cheek, down my arm, to my waist and rested both of his hands there.  My heart was pumping fast because I had a feeling that I knew where this was going.  Angeal leaned up and connected our lips together again.  I slowly wrapped my arms around his neck while he massaged my hips softly.

“Angeal,” I whispered in between kisses.

We both heard a bark, so in a way, Shadow was saying “get out of here” to us.  I chuckled slightly, until I felt Angeal get up and pick me up bridal style, and I squealed in surprise.  Angeal chuckled as he carried me into the bedroom, kicked the door shut, then gently laid me on my bed, and he climbed on top of me.

I was blushing like crazy; did I really want this?  Did I want to have my first time with Angeal?  He hovered over me and looked in my eyes.  I could tell he was ready, I mean I think all men are right?  Angeal probably noticed my nervousness because he just reached to caress my cheek.

“Sophie, I won’t make you do anything you don’t want to.  We can stop now if that’s what you want,” he said and kissed my forehead.

“Do you…love me?” I asked.

Angeal looked taken aback by the question, but his eyes changed to happiness.

“Yes Sophie, I love you.  I always have.”

My heart was racing, I felt myself growing happy.  He loved me, and…I think I loved him too.  But can I really say it.

“Angeal I—”

Sephiroth’s POV

What am I doing?  I’m finding myself trekking down to hall to Sophie’s apartment; but why?  I need to walk away, but I can’t pull myself away unless I talked to her.  For some reason, I didn’t want her to be with Angeal.  As much as I push her away, I want to have her for myself.  I approached her door ready to knock until I heard voices; their voices.  I listened intently using my enhanced hearing.

“I’m not gonna lie.  For the longest time I’ve had feelings for Sephiroth.  He and I had a little spat over it but it’s over now.  He doesn’t care about me and made it very clear, so I have decided to move on with my life.  And I love the choice I made.”

It was the way she said it that made me feel like I was stabbed in the abdomen with my own sword.  I don’t care?  Of course I care, that’s why I pushed her away!  If I hadn’t of done that, something would’ve happened to her that I probably couldn’t control!

“Do you…love me?” she asked.

My eyes went wide listening to her question.

“Yes Sophie, I love you.  I always have.”

I couldn’t take this anymore…I rested my hand against the door wanting to break it down and steal her away.  But knowing Sophie, if I do that she’ll never accept me; she’s not someone that you can force to do anything.  I knew what was about to happen, she will become Angeal’s tonight.  My chest felt tight, I was jealous of Angeal and I can’t do anything about it.  My actions got the better of me, and I pounded on the door.

“Angeal I—”

Sophie’s POV

I was interrupted by a loud pounding on the door.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” he growled.

I was face palming myself, since I was literally about to give myself to Angeal, then someone interrupts this very intimate moment.

“If that’s Genesis, I’ll kill him,” I mumbled as I got up from the bed.

Angeal’s hand caught me in place.

“Let me,” he said.

“Angeal,” I tried to protest.

He cupped his warm hand against my cheek.

“I’ll be right back, because I would like to continue, if you do as well.”

I gave him a kiss in response.  It was more of a way to tell him that he should come back quickly so we can finish what we started.  He walked out of the room, and I went to the bathroom to freshen up.  I looked at myself in the mirror, and for some reason there was this nagging thought in the back of my head telling me not to do it.  Why not, I loved Angeal didn’t I?  He was so perfect, why would I not?  When I looked back at the mirror, for some odd reason, I felt like I could see Sephiroth behind me, his eyes deep pools of beauty wanting me to understand.

“Sophie,” Angeal’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

“Huh, yeah?”

“Sephiroth is here, he wants to talk to you,” he muttered.

I approached Angeal and placed my hand against his cheek.  He looked me in the eye, and I could see the frustration in his face.  He’s quite upset that we were interrupted, and he’s probably more upset that it was Sephiroth.  Who could blame him?

“I’ll make it quick,” I promised.

Angeal leaned down to give me a quick kiss.

“I’ll be waiting,” he replied.

I walked out of the bathroom towards my living room where Sephiroth was leaning against the counter with his arms crossed.  I felt a slight blush appear on my face due to the events that were taking place not only a moment ago, and the fact that it was Sephiroth that was interrupting.  I’m not sure why he would do that, but I was going to find out.

“Kind’ve late, what do you want?” I questioned.

“I have a mission tomorrow.  The details are that we find the Wutai commander and bring him in for questioning.”

“So search and destroy is out then?  Why do you need me for that, isn’t it too dangerous for a 2nd Class?” I questioned with sarcasm trying to make him hurt like I hurt.

“No, the Director said to bring him in by any means necessary.  Since you’re better at infiltration, I decided that if I brought you, the mission would be completed successfully.  If you do not wish to go, I understand.”

I thought about it for a moment.  It’s only a minor mission, plus I could get some extra money for the dogs.  I sighed while rubbing my temple.

“When do we leave?” I asked.

“We need to leave by dawn tomorrow, since the location is in Fort Condor.”

“Man,” I muttered.  *Angeal is not going to like this…*

“Are you coming or not?” he pushed.

“Fine fine, I’ll be at the dock at dawn.  I promise not to be late this time.”

“Good.  See you then,” he said then walked out the front door.

I walked over to lock the door, and then leaned my head against it.

*Angeal is going to be so frustrated; hell, I’m frustrated.  But, if we do, I’ll be in pain tomorrow since I’ve heard that a woman’s first time always hurts…damn I’m so confused.*

I walked back into the bedroom to see Angeal leaning back on the bed with his shirt off, hands behind his head, and his eyes closed.  Once I closed the door, I climbed into bed next to him while laying my head on his chest.

“I take it you heard everything,” I said.

“Mm-hm,” he muttered then opened his eyes.  “Dawn huh?  Either this is a top-mission, or…”

“We have to capture the commanding officer of the Wutai, so I would think that this is a top-mission.”  I sighed, “I know that we were supposed to continue, but if I’m to go on a mission, I don’t want to be sore in the morning.  I might get myself killed.”

Angeal breathed deeply, “I understand, it happens.”

I leaned up to face him, “I’m sorry Angeal, I really wanted to-”

He pressed a finger to my lips to silence me.  His expression showed frustration, but it also held understanding.

“Shh, it’s alright.  I don’t think you were ready anyway.  You say you were, but you were quite nervous.  We can wait for now.  But you need your rest tonight; I’ll get going so you can sleep.”

Before he could get up, I got on top of him pinning him there while a blush crept on my face.  He spoke the truth when he said I wasn’t ready, but that doesn’t mean that I want him to leave.

“You know,” he smirked, “I kind’ve like this position.”

“Good,” I said in a low tone because I was embarrassed as hell.  “Just because I accepted the mission, doesn’t mean that I want you to leave.”

“Do you want me to stay?”

I leaned down and placed my lips on top of his trying to see if he would take that as an answer.  When I separated, I put my forehead against his.

“Does that answer your question?” I asked.

“Yes, yes it does,” he smiled.

Angeal pulled me down onto the bed then kissed me passionately.  After making out for a few minutes, he pulled back and pulled me to his chest to rest.

“Will you be here when I wake up?”

Angeal pulled me closer into him and kissed my head, “I’ll always be here.”
